Plastic crates could be used too but they do not delay quite great as the wooden pet crates. Not only was I able to find one the most effective size at IKEA, I'm also able to get the right color. After taking the shelves, dispose of side pieces, which were holding the shelves secured. Overall, the Billy bookcase from IKEA is a quality product.
